I called the place i got my oscar from and asked what he fed him for food. He hasnt been eating the pellets ive been giving him so i called to ask. They told me flakes. So i put flakes in and he eats a few. My pleco seemed to like them too lol. But when a pellet is in the tank he doesnt go near it. What should i do? I just paid 22 bucks for NLS and now he wont eat pellets.:help:

Don't feed him for a couple of days, he'll eat when he's hungry.
A couple of days fast will not hurt him in the least.

Keep the Oscar from feeding for about a day and a half.. Pull out the pellets and show them to him but don't feed him..... After a day and a half he will be so excited not to mention a little hungry, he'll switch over to the pellets....

just wait til hes hungry.

i also wouldnt always feed the flakes, theyre porous and they puff up in the fishes stomach making constapation issues

Agreed with the above. Fish will basically eat anything palatable as long as they are hungry. It sometimes takes a few days to switch over.

Just not familiar with it yet. I wouldn't worry a bit. Be patient. Simple survival skills will take over. Once he nips a pellet he'll be all set.
