heres some new 90g pics. for filtration i will have 2 fluval FX5 going soon. right now i have one FX5, the old box filter (ditching once the bacteria gets to the FX5), and the emperor 280. the LFS here is having a sale, FX5 for $250, so after i get the new one i'll only have the 2 FX5. my lighting is a 2x54w T-5 previously used on my reef

the pics are crap quality, the fish are so fast. lol

all but the oscar and red devil will be moved to the 650g. i couldnt snap a pic of the pleco, upside down cat, or african knife since theyre all nocturnal

baby pacus have a soft spot in my heart. too bad they turn into 1 1/2-2 ft monsters, otherwise i'd have a little one in my tank. i should tell you a funny story about my first pacus sometime if you like.
i guess the severum is the guy i was talking about, he is one nice looking fish.

i bought the severum, pacu Sr., pacu jr. and oscar beat up.

the severum had major HITH, i did 3 water changes a day and in a month it healed.

when i bought pacu sr. he was in a 20g long at the store and he was 5", he could barely move.

the baby pacu was in petsmart with like 30 other pacu in the tank and he had fin rot, so far its all healed.

the oscar was in a 15g cube just sitting laying depressed in some floating plants, and he was 6". the workers were astonished i actually wanted him

i cant wait to see them in the 650!!! my g/f and i rescued a pacu from a 55 gallon tank and its temporarily residing in our 180 until we get everything ready to upgrade again.

my pacus are crazy though, at petsmart someone wanted to buy ALL of the feeder goldfish, so i figured i would grab 6 and throw them in my 90g, a warmwater tank is better than letting them die. threw them in, within 20 seconds both pacu went and ate most of them, 1 survived and its in a seperate tank

i try to avoid feeders, but a few every once in a while shouldnt hurt. we feed ours grapes, mango, nuts, tomatos, bananas, pellets, and shrimp. they eat like it's going out of style.

04-24-2008, 02:05 AM
yep, they get grapes and all of that, dunno why they went after the feeders, they were meant as pets. lol
