View Full Version : Should driftwood never be upright?

Hi there,
I swear this bloody driftwood is drivin me crazy, should I avoid driftwood standing upright?

No LOL It "should" look like it just tumbled and fell into place, but who knows what that would look like? As long as it's not a risk of falling, stand it up, lay it down, put it on it's side...it's all about what looks pleasing to you. I agonised over placing mine for like 40 minutes and then thought, hmmm, just random will work. :laugh1blue:

I have it in all ways in my tanks - upside down - sideways - up the way - down the way heheheheh just whatever way looks the best...
If it keep falling over dig a smallish hole in the substrate and cover it in - think of the young days playing in the sad pit :ezpi_wink1:

I agree. I have a tank with a chunk of wood leaning in the corner. Fish hide behind it.

I put some together to make it look like it fell in the tank, almost like fallen braches to mimic possible natural habitat......

A good way to make it look natural is to push it deep into the substrate then pull it out a little, almost as if it was growing from the substrate.
