I think this would be the right place for this thread.

Anyway i planned that when my frogs spawned this year i would take a few eggs and grow some up into frogs in a plastic tub.

So i found some eggs in my pond last week and put them in, they've been growing and yesterday the first two hatched. I've took some pictures throughout the eggs development. Tell me what you think! http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fishpictures/showgallery.php?cat=578&ppuser=10235

Thanks everyone, some more eggs hatched today, i put them back in the pond though so the current two will have more room. theres a few eggs left still unhatched too.

Enreche i'm feeding them boiled lettuce at the moment.

Its suprising how much they grown in 3 days. Their heads and tails got twice the size and no their gills are barely visible. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fishpictures/showgallery.php?cat=578&ppuser=10235 - the first two pics.

What are you planning to feed them throughout their life?

I have heard that when they get too big for lettuce but too small for crickets you can feed them frozen bloodworms.

Do you condition the water with a dechlorinator or do you just take the water right from the pond? I wish I could get some tadpoles now, but all the lakes are still frozen over!

Thats cool! One of my LFS sells tadpoles thatare about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long. If i had the space i'd buy one and raise it, that would be cool.

I done a lot of reading on all this and found out as soon as they turn omnivore they take a lot of different things, I've heard Fish Pellets, Chicken Bones and to Snails!! So i'm gonna try a bit of everything and see what they like best.

As for the water its 50/50 Pond water or Tap water.. the tap water always sits for 24 hours as with all my tanks w/cs.

Are you sure those are frogs? Usually external gills means they are larval salamanders, I am not sure if any frogs have external gills as tadpoles.

your right some frogs dont but a few types of frogs and toads do like the common ones. they have external gills until they get upto a 1cm or 2 then they grow around them and become internal gills. :D

Well jus though i'd tell you all, i released them today as they started to grow legs. Frogs always return to the pond they leave as tadpoles so i thought now was the best time. I grew quite attached to them both :D Farewell Tadpoles!
