View Full Version : platy fry are 2/12 weeks!Almost 3,when can they go in to main tank?

hi,when can my nine platy fry be released into the main tank ?they
have gotten bigger,visible to the eye,and now they are still in the
breeder net,they are very healthy,when will they be big enough,
they are eating hikari first bites ,and powdere fish flakes.
they were in a five gallon but the water current was too strong,
so now they are in the net,ohh, also they are getting colors

any help would be great?

Pretty much as soon as they're big enough not to be eaten by the other fish.

If it's only other platies in there, 4-6 should be good. Just keep feeding them high protein foods and they'll be big enough soon.

I would say that they will be big enough in 2-3 months time. 3 to be safer :)

yeah I'd also go with two to three months... just keep loading them on fry food and brine shrimp......

make sure you put them on a high protien diet and that the water is very clean this will ensure rapid growth. Good luck with your fry
