oh thats going great, he didnt have a hood but had one made which fitted his lights. hes got the water in it now and its cycling, he should be adding a few plants soon and he bought a carbon dioxide thingo lol. hes put the background up and has put down all the driftwood and rocks. looooks sooo good but will look fantastic when all the plants are in and the fish. hes just drawing up and deciding where hes going to put them now. hes got 5 tanks set up now and his bred some of those murray river rainbows which i love. he wants to give me some and because they are local we can keep them in a pond so hes coming over to help me build one. i help him he helps me. lol. he has about 60 baby rainbows and he breeding corydoras and other types of native rainbows. soooooooo jealous, i set up a tank and he sets up 5 lol

I LOVE the murry river rainbows too patrick! Was one of the first fish I fell in love with, want to get another tank and have it just for them, they are absolutley stunning all together! Lucky you having an uncle who is breeding them, I've been keeping my eye out for them at the LFS's, but hadn't seen any yet.

yeah as a school they are beautiful. it depends where you live, in sydney a lot of shops stock them as well as nurserys. further up north there may not be that many available, you can keep them in a pond almost anywhere in australia as long as it doesnt freeze over or get too hot. in a pond they will almost certainly breed but a school of 6 or more in an aquarium is spectacular!! i would suggest calling up your local stores around you asking for them or maybe you can get in touch with a local government to organise getting some because the government loves you putting in native fish!!! if you live in sydney call up some places in campbelltown because they are very popular around there.

I'm in Ballarat in Victoria, will have to see if I can get a LFS to order some in for me. Or get them online, I think they have them too actually! Better get a tank for them first though, lol.
They got some in the 8' tank that I was looking after at the campsite that I worked at on Phillip Island, they grew fast, and looked gorgeous, have wanted some eversince, but as I just said, will have to get another tank! (Oh oh, MTS coming, MMTS I think, lol)
