Do fish mourn?

Do fish mourn? I lost a fish in the aquarium and his partner, a little thing I think is a girl gyppy have just been swimming by herself for several days, refusing contact whit the other fish, looking real sad. Now to day she seam better, having rejoind the other fish, and seam to be going back to normal. It almost seam she was mourning the loss of her friend.

Well, it makes sense if you think about it. I know when I was a kid, we had these two dogs for a very long time. When one of them passed away, the other one always seemed so sad. The second one stopped eating and also eventually passed away a few months later.

I would say it's defintely possible.

I am sure some fish do. Many fish to after all for life long relationships.

I know that Oscars are really into "sulking". For example if i switch up my Oscars tank or cahnge something that he isnt used to he sulks and eventually warms up to it anywhere from a few hours to a day. It is pretty interesting.. i would imagine a bunch of other fish mourn/sulk as well
