If you could have one freshwater fish what would you choose?
Tough choice for me.........I would probably choose either Pearl Gourami or Electric Blue Cichlids! {I spent a while thinking about this}. Never owned any of them but I love the colors and I enjoy there personality from my views of them in stores!

If I could financially and had the space for, about a 14X7 by about 36 inches tall aquarium duplicating the SA clear stream environment with driftwood, stones, plants along the back and side and leaf litter on the bottom with a whole flotilla of several hundred corydoras, a big ole colony of Apistos, about 10 or 15,000 tetras and miscellaneous fishes. Nice moderate current through it, lots of natural foods, so I could see natural behavior on a grand scale.
I'd also do the same thing with a reef tank that size.

Mine would have to be a betta, easy to keep and very social.

Haha, good joke Hobbs!
An oscar. I am trying to buy a 125 gallon tank with stand, tank, lights, filters and hood for 300. Only problem is that it is an hour away. If I get it, I will stock it with one (count it, one) oscar. It will be like a SA river.

Dude, they're 50 bucks over here!!! I wouldn't mind the investment, if I knew I could keep them alive. I'm just not that confident yet... :c11:

What about if I could have a bunch of different types of 1 fish? I would have a humongous tank, and have as many different Pleco's as i could. I love those guys, always have since I was a kid. Right now I have 4 different types, and trust me, would have a 5th if there was one that would get along with Piranha's.
Otherwise, I think I would go with Freshwater Rays.

You mean inaddition to the fish why already have? Or if that was the only one.
In addition to the fish I already have, I'd pick a Platinum Arowana or Super Red Arowana, but I'd never be able to afford those, or find a space for them, in real life.
If I could only have one type of fish......
I'd probably go with German Blue rams. Great fish!
