What are some beginner plants that can live off c02 that fish give off. Also how many fish would need to be in a 10g tank for this to work.

I know java fern and java moss do not need any additional CO2 to grow. I have them in a ten gallon with fish and I have some moss in a 2 gallon bucket with light and water and nothing else and it is growing alot.

The majority of plants will do fine without supplemental CO2. The amount of light is the determining factor. High light increases growth rate which needs more nutrients and CO2.
I have a bunch of plants listed in the classifieds that were grown in tanks with 2wpg and no CO2

Would a Hygrophila polysperma be fine with normal c02 in the water, also I would get lights made for plants to provide lots of light.

You only need co2 addition for plant that require bright light. The following link classify plant by light requirement, so all the plant in the low/medium categories won't require co2.

I think I'll get a Hygrophila polysperma and a Java Fern to put in my 10g hex I might be getting. Instead of the 10g hex we might set up our 50g but my mom hasn't decided yet.
