Forum Update

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am hoping to upgrade to our new forum software tonight. A the first of the new features here at AC Tropical fish.

So if the forum is down you know why.

Well there were more problems than I had expected which took extra time (a very bad internet connection to be exact) but here is the new version of the forum. I hope everyone will like it and forgive the minor pains the transfer will mean. (such as having to reset the avatar)

LOL. you soon get a feel for it. Most things are in the same place and just ask if you got any questions at all.

Of course there are a number of things that are new but you learn them to. You acould as an example reqquest an award or two that you are enitled too.

check the medals and awards page/forum if you don't know what I mean;-)

and you will of course have to get a blog.

Did you give yourself that title William? lol. Or is it an automatic thing?

LOL yes and no. I haven't given me that title. It is default for the amount a rep I gave myself to se if the system worked. Will change that again.

My reputation is updated. Now it says that my word is beyond questioning like it should ;-)

I will also increase the reputation of those who are mods on the forum. That way we can give other users who deserve it more rep.

The new look is great. I'm particularly happy for the blog. Now I can keep a journal for my tank.

Exactly what it is meant for. Even if everybody of course are welcome to keep a journal of their lives if they prefer.

how do we tell who the mods are? hope this isnt a stupid question.

No it isn't and actually I don't know. All moderators have been given global moderator rights, Ie they can moderate all forums if they see fit, ie however spots spam etc first can remove it. You are of course welcome to only or primarely look after the forums you were moderators in earlier.

I will give all old moderators global moderators rights in this setup. I you will be able to moderate wher you see needed.

only allowed to moderate the forums we were moderating before, so like wasnt i a moderator for them all :P anyway i was going to ask, how come when i check the forums new posts and return to the main forum menu and then scroll down it still shows new messages in the forum?

This forum seems to use the age of a post to termining if it is new. Likely a setting somewhere. I will look into it.

Fuller you have to back out the particular thread in stages. ex. for here click the chatterbox, then lounge, then main forum. it will no longer appear as a new thread.
