"Tank of the month" for the website

Getting visitor's involved in the website is always a good thing, One good way AC could do that, I think would be to do a "Tank of the month" or "Tank of the week" even.

This would require users to submit photographs of their aquarium along with a description of the aquairum and its inhabitants, and then each month you could pick one user and feature their aquarium on the from page of the website, with a link to read their article about their tank and see more of their pictures.

It would get perhaps more visitors involved, and would also give us a chance to see some other peoples aquariums. I always like seeing a new aquarium set up, and reading about it.

I'd be one ofthe first users to submit an entry into such a contest :)

i like that idea, although id have to set up a nice looking tank that my fish dont destroy

I like the idea. Consider it done as soon as the i have rolled out the new website. Which I hoep to start (obs start) doing tomorrow.

Hey Tornado........nice idea.
I'm in a couple forums like that where pictures can be posted and it's neat. It's a picture only folder on the front page and can be viewed by anyone who has registered. (Might get more to register that way.)

I like the idea of posting picture but unsure about the voting thing. If someone has an 800 gallon tank with wonderful large species, you know they would get the vote each month. I'd be afraid that might discourage those with smaller tanks from offering their pictures. I do love the picture idea tho. Good job.

Maybe, but each tank can only win once (a years, per setup or something like that) and you could include classes. best aquarium 0-40 gallons, best aquarium 41- 100 gallon and best large aquarium or something like that.
