I have this tank with a crack in the glass. I was wondering if there was a way to repair it so it won't leak.

you would have to slice the silicone, remove the cracked side, get a new piece of glass of equal size, and re-silicone on the new piece

After googling the topic here is a couple of links.

Good luck and I hope this helps

As a rule it's not worth it if you want it to be used for fish.

Having said that though...

I have my snake in a 'free' 33g I got from the University. It was badly cracked, so they repaired the cracked end by inserting a separate piece of glass inside the tank (on top of the cracked end) and securing it with silicon. It then continued use as a fish tank.

But it's an ugly repair...

Otherwise, a cracked tank can still be used for reptiles if it's not a large crack.

That's what the one I have was used for.

And both of the panes of glass are cracked so I think its ruined.

by the time you cut away all the silicone, clean the edges, buy new glass, silicone it back in (GE 1 only not 2), and reset the frames you could have bought a new one and cycled it..... probably less money and less headache.....unless its a huge tank...

Thats what my parents said. That it would be easier to get a new one. But we got the tank for free. :27:

I have a cracked 10g in my attic, probably being used as a spider tank now lol, and I have been wondering for so long how to fix it. The crack isn't so big. I don't mean to take over the thread, but What could I used to fill in the crack?
