I inquired about German Blue Rams yesterday on our local sask aquatic forum as someone was putting an order for 50 from Spencer Jack in Winnipeg. They will be in on Mon night, that was quick. I've got a ton of work to do between now and then. I picked up my 125g tank, stand etc this afternoon. I spent the better part of 2 hours scrubbing hard water stains off. Rinsed, filled, drained, dried and painted the background black. Tomorrow put in sand, rocks, plants and , equipment, fill with water place fx5 from 120 onto 125 with a fluval 404. Catch fronts from 120 move to 125. Drain 55 gal take tropheus, rocks and move them to 120 gal with a xp3 and a aquaclear 110. Then set up 55 gal with fake for now plants, rocks, caves etc for 10 rams. I have figured out the softer water problem for the rams. The good thing is that all the filters except the 404 are ready to go with bacteria as they have all been going for at least 6 months. So once all the changes and swapping around have been done I will post some pics.

You probably wanna wait a few days sailor... German Blue Rams are extremely hard to ship and when they receive them almost all will be stressed/pale white..... Their color usually comes back within two days or so.... Good luck....

I wan't expecting the order so soon, one of the sask aquatics members is picking up the order Mon eve at the airport and he doesn't have the space to hold the fish for anyone.

Pick them up at the airport approx 6:30 and I live aprox 40 mins from there. i have an insulated fish box to bring them home in. It should be no problem as Spencer ships his fish all over Canada. The last batch I got from him 22 assort malawi's all survived the trip.

yeah not to hijack your thread but I had a rough two days, I took that 110 out of my Oscars 55 and my tank shot outta control. I thought it was the filter recycling my tank here the water was bad...I had to go to walmart to get bottled water to dump in my tank....

You have to hate those emergency water runs. Luckily haven't had to do 1 of those in a while.

You've got a busy couple days for sure. I hope your rams arrive OK and weren't held in cargo with the weather as cold as it's been. Can't wait to see pictures when it's all up and running and the fish are in their new home.

What type of rocks are you using to build caves?
