well you might think something bad has happened.....but no not really.
My swordtail popped about 20 fry within a couple of hours.
i looked into the tank and was doing some stuff and then went off and did some stuff for a couple hours and then came and looked at the tank and i see these little blurry things in the top corner of the tank and i was like "o....fry" lol. so i put them into the 10g since there was nothing in it except some snails.
The funny thing is...i wasn't even expecting any fry.....lol....they just showed up uninvited....but it's ok....i know alot of people who would gladly take them off of my hands.

so yeah...thats my little speech about my "swordtail fry"

jeeze.....you can have mine....they wont stop breeding. In my 20g fiddler tank......i started out with 6 adult feeder guppies (2 female, 4 male) to this day the 6 are still alive....along with about 70 children.....yeah in 4 months they had about 70 fry...those 2 parents....the first batch are now old enough to start having their fry about now. it is CRAZY!!!!!! lol.

yup......like crazy....more than they ever did in FW

EDIT - in FW there were a few fry here and there but other then that there usually wern't any....and one thing is....they don't eat their fry either....so they all pretty well live.

Congrats on the non expected fry! My endler's have breed like crazy too. I started with 2 males and 4 females and now I have ~100 fry and probably a dozen or so breeder size adults. Thats within about a 4 month time period. Not to mention the dozen or so I've sold to people!

yeah they get WAY out of hand don't they???? it is crazy....lol.....but it is cool to watch the fish grow up from fry to adult.

Congrats on your baby swordtails. My original Molly is a granny now, but I still enjoy finding the little ones even though it makes for a lot of fish!

yeah for sure.......they are too little right now and my camera isn't the greatest so i don't think it would pick them up at that little size.


They are all eating fine and doing great so far.
