hello,i had pufferfish, but i cant pin point its name because it was a while ago when he died:scry: but i can tell you it enjoyed alive earth worms prawns bloodworms, basically anything that was small enough and moved to fit into its mouth, but i also noticed that it like to hide,i got it a flowerpot and it liked that,i can described my puffer, greeny browny colour, big eyes and it grew quite large,i could be wrong here but you did say 2 foot tank? if so a nice group of puffers i could recommend is figure of eight puffer, hopefully this link below can help you decide good luck with whichever pufferfish you decide to go for!:19:

ok...in that case then you can get:
- Bronze Puffer, Golden Puffer, Avocado Puffer (all the same puffer...different names) [15g min]
- Red-tailed Red Eye Puffer [10g min]
- Red Eye Puffer [10g min]
- Pea Puffer, Pygmy Puffer, Dwarf Puffer (all the same puffer...different names) [10g min]
- Amazon Puffer, Brazilian Puffer, SA Puffer (all the same puffer...different name)....one thing is with this one is that their teeth grow REALLY fast so you have to be careful with them and ALWAYS have TONS of snails in the tank for them. [20g min]
- Fang's Puffer, Red Spot Puffer (all the same puffer...different names) [10g min]
- Common Puffer [20g min]
- Figure Eight Puffer [15g min]

Fresh with more salt than normal in it. Puffers are kept alone though as a puffer tank. They have teeth and will bite. Spotted puffers are pretty hardy and easy to keep.

Hi, I have a 96 L aquarium, and glass fish are cool (but do you mean kriptoterus something ?), but you have to maintain them in a group of 3 minimum. They don't move much, but there incredibly resistant.

I'd like to know, I have a 30 L aquarium, would the dwarf puffer work ? And were do you think I could find it (on the web, unless you know somewhere in France, Alsace) ? I was also thinking about a discus tank, but thats another story ...

This sunday was a cleaning the gravel in my 29g BW tank and my goof ball managed to get sucked up into the suction tube. Well, he freaked and puffed up and got stuck in the center. I was about to freak out cus he couldnt breathe and his tail was flipping and his eye balls were bugging out. So I took the hose off and did the first thing the came to mind. I aimed the tube in the water and blew into the back end and like some "puff-zooka" he shot out the tube. With a splash and a few excited laps around the tank, he settled down. I looked him over and appears no worse for wear. And happy as a can be. :-)

You can't get 3. You have to get 1 pair.

And to Treerat, that's funny and sad at the same time!

A couple pipes would be ok.
They like a bunch of plants though. Make it medium-heavily planted. Preferably live plants.

I have 2 in a 10 gallon. Even with just 2 there is a ton of aggression, and the one almost never lets the other eat. They make up for what they lose in size to what they have in agression.

I wouln't out more than 2 in a tank. No matter how big it is, because they will find each other eventually.
......Unless you have like a 75 gallon, then you could put a couple pair in there but you'd never see them lol.

Hey Aussie. I have one dwarf and he's really cool. right now, I'm feeding him one small to medium pond snail a day.He is in my 20gallon right now with my female guppy and 3 corys. He is still quite young though and will probably have to be moved since I am going to use that tank for all of my guppy fry.

If you're interested, check out [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]. Lots of species specific stuff there.

Oddly, I got him to go in with other fish for sanil control as my lfs told my that loaches would eat my guppies.

that will teach me to listen to the lfs instead of the all knowing forum. lol

good luck.
