So i go to feed my fish last night and look to see where my siamese fighter fish is. OOOOH there you are happily floating upside down :(
I had noticed he had a crooked spine. Ever since I got him, I think i read somewhere this could be TB? is that correct?
Any other explanations as to his mysterious departure?

Hmmm, I have no idea - Maybe he was born 'deformed'? If he was, then thats probably why he died ='(

Its a kind of Tuberculosis that affects fish, and is caused by a bacteria. It isn't related to human TB.

But you should be careful. The water, you can actually get sick from it from what i heard if you got it in a scrape or something.

Dave can you elaborate on this for me? Dad and I were having a discusion on whether or not its TB or not. Does the fish type of TB affect the spine of the fish at all?
I really want to know if this is what my fish had.
Thanks!

Fish TB is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium piscium. The disease is very common, but unless water quality is bad, doesn't become a fish pandemic. In well-maintained tanks, its very rare for fish to get it.
The bacteria attacks the fish's organs, and a twisting of the spine is common.
There's no cure I know of for fish TB, but I'll ask around and see if there's been any progress on one.
Here's a link ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]) to many fish diseases and cures, if there is one.
Dave
There is a treatment, not necessarily a cure, for fish TB, but it involves high-power, broad spectrum antibiotics. Not sure if that is really worth it.
Here's an interesting article that outlines the disease as well as transfer to humans. Scary.
