Or atleast, of my tanks Val's and anubias...
Staghorn Algae has been slowly taking over my aquarium. My otto's dont eat it. My snails don't eat it. Nothing eats it. The only solution I've heard is of dipping the plant in a 25% bleach solution. Which means I have to remove my established plants. Which I dont like. Does anyone have any ways to remove it?
Parameters are:
ammonia 0
nitrites 0
nitrates >5
Ph 6.4
Temp: 82
Algenco

No! 5% bleach solution for 1 minute. You can spot treat with Excel, it work very well.

Excel? I had DIY Co2 in my aquarium but I thought it was aiding in the growth. I also added twice weekly ferts but stopped that too. Should I put this back in?

I stopped fertilizing so heavily and the algae went away. Now I get none of it, but am covered with cyano algae. Also raising the temp might help.
I found this article, I dont know if it has been posted here or not, but it has some awesome pics of different types of algae and thought it might be a good read as well to help anyone with algae problems. Hope it helps someone.
