hi,i' just bought on 1/27/08 today,two red tuxedo platys,
one was heavinly pregnat where she can only swim a little
and is in a net breeder and the male,now i have 2 males and three females


but anyways what should i do when fry arrive?

Well, if you don't have anywhere to put them once they're adults, I'd suggest leaving them with the adults. The parents and other platies will eventually eat them, simple population control.

If you have another aquarium to put them in, or can sell them to a fish store, then you can breed them if you want. You'll need another aquarium to put the fry and raise them for a few months, until they're big enough to sell.

when the female is done giving birth remove her she will eat the fry. Feed the fry powdered flake, BBS(live if you can get it), Powdered algea wafer, and mabey hakari first bites....not all at once of course but I find its best to feed a variety. You can feed several small feedings a day mabey 4 or five times.
A good way to not over feed is to moisten the tip of a tooth pick and dip it in the food then touch the surface of the water.
