i am combining 2 twenty gallon tanks into one 55 gallon tank. from a previous question, i can add the water and gravel from one tank into the new tank to speed up the cycle.
my problem now is that one of the 20 gallon tanks has some type of disease consisting of small 1/8" worms that appear periodically. i know this is deadly because i accidentaly moved a fish into the infected aquarium and it died in one day. i have tried to kill this desease by using a dark blue chemical (i do not remember the name) as well as other parasite control tablets but cannot kill the disease.
should i take the chance of moving the fish into this tank to the 55 gallon tank without infected fish. In the event that i decide not to, can i move just the gravel?. if so, how would i steralize it? or should i just leave the diseased tank alone and go out and get new gravel?
this has got me really worried.
