If so, what is your over all review of it?
if i get it I am probably going to Damsel fish because I wil marine newbie and don't want to test my luck with anything expensive yet. I will also probably get a mushroom coral.
Nope...but I've heard decent things about Instant Ocean Eclipse tanks...so you'll likely be fine with it...

Is the lighting included in the kit fit for most corals?

random guess, but it probably has 48w or 96w of PC, i dont know for sure, its just a guess. for all corals you should get 120w on the 12g, but for the majorty at least 60w will do

The corals I would want are mushrooms brain coral and maybe some kind of polyps. Where should I place corals in an aquarium? Do I just let them on my LR or do I attatch them?
Could I manage to fit a few gobies and a clown in a 12g? Could I be able to squeeze in a flame angel?

in a 12 gallon i wouldnt get more than a couple fish, a clown and a neon goby would look nice, and dwarf angels need more room, i would say no less than a 30g. Mine is in the 10g (soon to be 20g) only temporarily, he will be in a 40g before he is fullgrown if all goes to plan. And for the corals, a lot of people i know use epoxy to glue them to the rocks where they want them

I guess I won't get an angel.
A few Gobies and a clown are what I am aiming for.

a few gobies and a clown is too much, in a 12g your pretty much limited to only 2 fish comfortably.

Erik, if you have a 10g, what fish are in your tank? Do you have any suggestions?
When stocking, I will probably visit my lfs and tell somebody there my tank size and ask for fish reccomendations.

Mushrooms, zoanthids and a couple of others do fine with less light, so the nano is perfect. Some SPS, clams and others need a bit higher light, however, your tank is too small for a clam...and the SPS are fussier, so I wouldn't recommend them. I wouldn't get a brain either...they get quite large...
You can have 1-2 very small fish in your tank...check out the green clown gobies for example. I have 2 and theyr'e so cute! But they are secretive - I don't see them very often. There are other options as well.
Definately NO to any of the angels!

my tank has a clown and a coral beuty angel, the angel was completely unexpected, if i didnt take him the poor guy probably would have died. My original stocking plan was a clown and either a blue goby, a purple firefish, or a 6 line wrasse. But i only planned on having 2 fish. My suggestion is get the clown, since you really want it, and some kind of goby or a firefish maybe. There are quite a few options out there so do a little lookin around online and find some small fish you like

I found a good second fish choice: [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
A problem wih my lfs is that it doesn't have a big SW section, and in it's coral tank are a few corals and some clams/inverts, but most of the corals are fairly expensive: (50$ and up)
Should I test my luck with an expensive coral as a newbie or look around at the marine aquarium store down the road for something cheaper?
I also found a good way to start out a live rock structure: [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
