Hi I've posted this question on the North Americam Cichlids forum as well ...some have suggested that the mystery fish are Malawi...I'm not sure if people skip all over the AC so I thought I'd get some new ideas from you.
There are 3 fish 2 a breeding pair and the other is on it's own all sold as the same fish. The dark stripes come and go with aggression levels and can completely dissappear. The 1st fish does not get the stripes.:1:

First pic looks like a Green Texas.

The others look like a hybrid. Looks like maybe a convict x green terror or jack dempsey.

Whatever they are they certainly are beautiful.

Definitely not mbuna, or any other African Rift Lake species either. As for what they are, can't help there.

cool looking fish whatever it is

The second 1 is a Blue Acara juvenile. They are a South American Cichlid & grow to about 8 inches. I'm not sure about the first 1 tho.

Maybe first is white spotted cichlid juvenile..... hmm kinda tough though. Front facial makeup is that of a cichlid

It's not 1 of those, I've got a few Altolamprologus Calvus are from Lake Tanganyika in Africa.

Thankyou for all your ideas.........Some of the fish in the tank they were sold from were blue acara, so that's probably right..I may have tracked down the breeder and I may know for sure.... This is what they look like when they're flirting.
