Wait til the fry are free swimming, then remove them to a separate container. If you leave them in the tank, the tankmates will start picking them off. You can feed the fry baby brine shrimp. You'll be feeding them four or five times a day, and partial water changes daily. Keep the bottom of their tank as clean as possible.
You need to keep their little bellies bulging. When they start ignoring the BBS, start using Hikari Micro pellets with them. Change food sizes as they grow.
Its helpful to have a couple snails in the fry tank to clean up any missed food or whatever. Use a brine shrimp net to capture the fry; they have a very soft weave.
Good luck.

Thank you everyone! I dont have a brine shrimp net, and wont be able to get one for a while. can i just take the netting off one of my old nets and replace it will like a nylon stocking or something?

Also I have only one air pump. How am i going to be hathing muliple brine shrimp containers?

The parents are guarding over the wrigglers. Thw wrigglers are just, well, wriggling. I will put them in a bare bottomed 5 gal tank with a sponge filter and make daily water changes. Instead of using Hikari micro pellets, can I use Spectrum Gow? It's .5 mm. Is that too big? how large are the micro pellets?

Thanks again. I may ge pics tonight.

CONGRATS ! why cant you use the infusoria you made? or didnt it work

01-26-2008, 10:32 PM
It didnt work so well, and if they are already big enough to eat bbs, might as well feed it.

01-26-2008, 11:19 PM
they're probably too large for infusoria. Microworms would be good. Wait until they are all up swimming good before feeding, a lot of people get anxious and feed too early.

01-26-2008, 11:28 PM
I cant feed microworms unfortuanetly. Are commerical fry food the same size as BBS?

get a "T" for your ari pump, and run 2 or more air stones off of one pump.

01-27-2008, 02:05 AM
Yeah, I found a T thing so thanks

Cool! Hopefully, you will have a large yield of them, and be able to make a bit of cash on the side.

Or, you could use them as an excuse to get your parents to let you get that free 200g :wink2:
