Would anyone dare putting a pair of sajica in a tank with some of the more peaceful mbunas like the electric yellows?

I have a 55 gal and looking at stocking options.

Not acceptable. Central/North American Cichlids require a low pH, while most African need a high pH.

Not only the PH is different, also the needs of the fish. Mbunas need an environment consisting of rock formations and sand, plants are not necessary. Sajicas need also sand, but they have roots and wood and plants in their waters. In Mbuna tanks, if the tank is not big enough, only one strong male will rule the whole place and the others will hide. Sajicas are fish which live like: Live and let live, but dont come too close to my territory. So the bullying Mbuna male and the Sajica male will fight constantly.

why not?

Isn't a community tank a mix of biotypes?

wheres the difference?
