platy mating behavior

i bought a trio of gold platy fish,they are currently in a 10g
i have one boy,and two girls,what is platy behavior like for mating

as far as i know there isnt one, the male just goes up close to the female and spoofs near her and bingo babies, i might be wrong but i have never seen that with my platties
