I finally got my fishless cycle going. I add ammonia every day waiting for the nitrite spike and nothing is happening. My Ammonia is way up, but my nitrite hasn't really gone up that much .50 is the highest it has got. Am I doing something wrong or is this process going to take several weeks?
Thanks.

It can take several weeks to a couple months even to cycle a tank. Be patient, it'll come around!

If you can get some established gravel from a friend and put into a nylon and hang it in your tank. Or get some filter media from a friend and put in your filter. It will speed things up a little. Also make sure there is lots of air and heat that water to about 82-85 degrees F. That will help the bacteria grow.

Have you added live plants at all? That would help speed things up too. But, better to be patient with the cycling than being disappointed with sick/dead fish and emergency water changes, etc. I'm setting up my first tank over the weekend and know that I just have to patient--it'll pay off in the long run. Good luck!
