I have bought this retrofit kit for my 29 gallon aquarium that I am setting up for plants. I already have EcoComplete(only) as substrate. I am wanting to get the plants in and then stock it as a tropical community. It comes with a 65 watt 50/50 straight pin base compact fluorescent lamp (10,000K and the other side is the actintic 03) I know that the actintic does nothing for my plants, just corals and such for marine aquariums. But here is my question, Should I go ahead and get the straight 10,000K bulb since I want more healthy plants or is the one that came with it enough. I have heard that the actintic shows off fish colors more brightly. I would love to have the fish colors really pop. But I will wait and hear from you fine folks before I make my decision.

For good plant growth, go with a 6700k bulb. Much better than 10000ks for plants.
