I just got my second betta fish today! My last betta fish, Constantine, died about a year and a half ago after a three year life span. Unfortunately, I was at boarding school most of the time, while Constantine lived at home with my parents. Now, I am back at home, and although my family has three parrots and a dog, I still yearned to have another fish. So, today, with my mother's permission, I bought a beautiful fish, who I named Sabino.
As soon as I got home, I rinsed out Sabino's new tank, put in tap water, and then put in the water conditioner stuff. Sabino seems happy and lively, but I am concerned because his fins seem to have white on them. They are not spots, but streaks. Does anyone know what this could mean? If they do not go away, I am going to call my family's vet, but I was just wondering if anyone has had this happen before to their betta and/or knows what this means.
