Well now that Im finally done my nano canopy, Ive turned to my 46g bowfront. My question is more to do with lighting, but I thought I would still post this here.

Can I replace the strip lighting, with Compact florecent lighting? Im wanting to do this to up my total wattage in my tank so I cam continue to heavily plant it and have success.

I was thinking of having 4x 27w CF lights. Would I get good plant growth this way as well? Any help and advice always welcome! Thanks in advance.

That lighting is great for your size tank. but with that amount of light, ytou will need CO2.

I am sure this goes without saying to members of this forum. But make sure if you have a piece of glass to keep the water evaporation away. I was at a neighbors house the other day who was concerned that he kept finding water in his fixture. I told him it was a good concern. It never occurred to me that someone would mount the fixture directly on top of the tank with out a piece of glass.
