The photo gallery was targeted by hackers who succeeded in causing some damage and newer pictures where lost. If your pictures were lost please feel free to reupload them.

I will clean the DB and remove the lost picture entries as soon as I can.

How did hackers get in???

William

Don't really no as I am no expert i do however they got in by using a brute force attack. The entire server the site ran on was taken down and need to be rebooted. It might however have been a software exploit since no software is 100% safe.

Hubby watches Stargate, so I see quite a bit of it (not that I enjoy it) but I do like Teal'c who is a big quiet guy who knows how to take care of business. Good catch Full3r

We have 8 tanks running, plus a recently added frog aquarium. The kids brought home frogs from camp on Labor Day while I was taking my dad back to the ER again, and Daddy told them they could keep them!

I didn't betray the german blue rams Demonshark...quite the opposite...I did ALOT to try to keep them and it didn't work, so they have fallen to the "least" favorite list! I started with Demon, a male, and he would not accept any tankmates, he beat the crap out of even the bolivian ram who is now in my large community tank. I tried two females for him, and he beat the hell out of them also (this is a 29 gal, only inhabitants were him, 4 kuhli loaches and some snails). Originally this tank was going to be centered around some of the smaller cichlids. I made sure I softened my hard tap water with RO before starting the tank in preparation for my gbr's. Since he was being so mean to the females I put them into my Q tank with the dwarf gourami's that I had recently purchased and it turned out they had an internal bacterial infection and I lost all GBR's and one of the dwarf gourami's. Bad luck for me, and although I considered trying again, the gbr's that I have seen since locally don't look too great so I have moved on to trying, and succeeding with other fish.

Thanks for the comments on the photos....some days I sit for hours snapping shots and get only a few good ones. Lately though, the fish are less likely to freak when they see the camera, which is nice!

So how does your hubby take the cancellation of stargate ?

Haven't heard him say a word about the cancellation of Stargate....so that is news to me. Things have been a little stressful around here....the situation with Dad hasn't gotten much better...2 trips to the ER in as many days...and 2 doctor's appts tomorrow with him. I am the daughter he calls when he needs to go or has any questions, and somedays I feel like I have 3 kids instead of 2! Plus, hubby lost his job, and his eyesight in one eye the same day 2 weeks ago. He has been to ER and various doctor's to try to find the reason, so conversations naturally haven't really centered on tv lately. When all of this is done I think I may go to school for my nursing degree....I figure I can probably sleep thru half the classes and still ace the tests with all of the medical knowledge I have gained :)

Hopefully my next trip with GBR's will be better Demonshark, and thanks for the comments on the pics everyone. I am quite pleased with my camera, now if I could only grasp the various manual settings to get better shots more often, but that is being saved for sometime in the future when life is boring! It was very frustrating working hard to soften my water to the right parameters, setting up a decent sized tank, looking forward to my rams, only to have so many issues and then losing them anyway. I actually saw some healthy looking ones today at petsuppliesplus, in a tank with german gold rams, but forced myself to walk away since I have enough going on right now that I don't need to be worrying myself about new "babies"

Firstly, sorry to hear about your dad

On regards to the cancellation of Stargate what nutmeg thought of cancelling startgate, there fighting the ori and they just cancel it, but on the + side they are planning SG-1 movies although it will be greatly missed, i still have atlantis

William
09-07-2006, 05:30 PM
Yeah. they are also planning a new spin off series.

The scifi channel don't want to renew for a 11 season and the contracts prevents MGM to allow anyone else to make a 11th season for US tv even if there are a number of channel that wants to pick up sg1.

Didn't know you watched sg1 full3r.

Kimmers: I am sure everything calms down for you eventually. Hopefully sooner than later. BTW, if you don't mind me asking, whats your real name. I always type Kimberly and than realise it and change to kimmers ;-)

Thanks EVERYONE, see what I mean about the nice friendly feel of this forum! :D Things haven't gotten better, Dad is now hospitalized, but at least there he is under a closer watch than I can give him since he refuses to live with one of us, stubborn old coot!

My given name is Kimberly Anne....I was nicknamed Kimmers when I started driving school bus by one of my mentors and the name stuck, so now everyone calls me Kimmers, or Auntie Kim...because I babysit my 3 yr old niece who is constantly "hey Auntie Kim" and then asking questions or making comments about stuff that makes NO sense.

Oh I forgot. Sorry to hear that your father is getting worse.

kimmers318
09-08-2006, 11:59 AM
Thanks William.....but getting worse is to be expected when a person starts with terminal/incurable lung cancer and it spreads to the brain. One doc gave us 3-6 month expectancy (September 19 will be 3 months), another thinks she can give him 6-9 months, which is what we are hoping for because my youngest sister is due to have the first boy in our family in about 6 weeks.....and we would really like for Dad to meet his grandson.
Well....off to get ready to go to the hospital.

I am so sorry about your dad. I can only say that my prayers are with you.

My daughter is 3 and 1/2 and nothing makes sense anymore. Before it was one word that told me what she wanted. Now it is nonsense sentences and strange stories about imaginary people. Try dressing Peter Pan so you can go to the grocery store. Or putting the seat belt on Robbie the Robot. That was after she watched Robots. I feel for you. I hear that as they get older it gets better. I hope. :)

Isn't the imagination wonderful qwenkat? My 4 yr old daughter regularly takes "Sandy", her imaginary horse with us and rides her thru the stores with sound effects the whole way while holding an imaginary set of reins, or leads her when she is scolded for riding a horse in the store. Not only do people look at us like we are slightly crazy, try loading a horse into a minivan with 4 kids, 2 in carseats! :) I am a lunatic for correcting a child who is not actually riding a horse, and she is a lunatic because she thinks/acts like she is riding one!!!!!

gwenkat
09-09-2006, 01:43 PM
Thankfully when my girl wants to ride a horse, we get the real one out. We did have a monster that went everywhere for a while. Then a shark. I always wonder where she gets her ideas and her energy. It is incredible to play with her and be in her world for a few minutes. But that is all I can take before I want to explain that the shark is not sitting in the chair eating macaroni because sharks eat meat and it is most likely eating the cat. Currently there are no additional friends in the house, but my daughter is a princess, complete with dress and crown. Boy is there trouble if you forget she is the princess and isn't treated like one. :)

My daughter would love for us to get a horse for her....but we don't have the space/time/money for that pet currently. She has been obsessed with horses since she first started to learn and recognize different animals so we have had horse nonsense for over 2 yrs now! Some days it is too cute, and others it just gets annoying tripping over toy horses...having to spend extra time to take "Sandy" with us and talking about horses.

gwenkat
09-10-2006, 11:01 PM
She might outgrow it? :) Or she could end up like me and marry into a family that loves them as much as I do. My daughter just convinced her grandfather to buy her a horse of her own when she finishes her riding lessons. She doesn't want to share with mommy anymore. Now she has to have her own. :)

Maybe "Sandy" will go the way of "Monster", "Shark" and "Peter Pan" and you will have more room in the van! Good luck. :)
