I bought this fish months ago, he was on his own in a shop, I thought it would be happier with me. I was told it was a ruby barb, can anyone identify it, I want more, they look so beutifull and this chap is getting a little bit big for his boots and needs some buddies of his own type to keep him in check.

thats exactly what he looks like.. they go by ruby barb or black ruby barb. Grow about 3-4inches big, so keep that in mind when you go out to buy more.
