I heard that spirulina algae had a lot of great vitamins in it for fish, especially vitamin C. I've had a couple of illnesses in the tank and thought I should get some. So I got a can of spirulina flakes and a can of color enhancing flakes and mixed them together. I had about two Tablespoons left of freeze dried brine shrimp and some staple flakes and threw them in, as well. My plan is to feed my babies crumbled flakes from this mix, but then I heard the color enhancing flakes don't aren't nutritious enough for the little ones.
Am I hurting the fry by including color enhancing flakes in their diet? If I had to chose between the algae and the shrimp which would you chose? I've saw spirulina fed brine shrimp in a jar in the Fosters and Smith catalog, but of course I can't find it at the local pet store.
