20g+ recommended. Needs lots of hiding places. Nocturnal and you won't see them much. Preferably sand substrate. They reach 3" in length. They eat about anything but sinking wafers work well for them. I am sure I missed something but I am eating and typing at the same time.:hmm3grin2orange:

Around 7.0, they aren't really that picky, they can adjust.

I found this site when doing my research to identify from memory what I was looking for. Turned out I rememberd having Kuhli Loaches as a kid.

Bes ure to check out the Borneo Kuhli Loach, I so wish I could find these!!!

Be sure to get 3 or more. in your size tank, get 5-6.

yes, if they are alone they will just be shy, uninteresting creatures. they will be exploring and wiggling around the tank with a couple of them.

Kuhli loaches need really fine substrate. Otherwise, they will attempt alot to dive into bigger gravel only to scratch themselves.
Some advice: Get several hiding places in your tank. I once had some in a 20g with a castle in the middle and all five of the kuhli loaches hid in for almost all of their lives. Occaisonally, one would poke it's head out though. All of the kuhlis were in the only hiding place in the tank.
