I have decided to do a nano mushroom tank mainly because mushroom corals are easy to keep and do not need special lighting from what I have heard.
Do you have any suggestions on doing a 6g nano mushroom tank?
Would a mushroom coral easily outgrow a 6g? I can get an Eclipse system 12 if possible. I am mainly aiming for the system 6 just to get away with spending less money.
How do I feed mushroom coral?

it is a good idea

however, i would still go for a 12g over the 6g. You have more room for error, but not much more...........

EDIT: Mushrooms do not require any extra or special feeding. They get most of their nutrition through photosynthesis

id still go with a 12 too, that way you still have option for a fish or 2 and maybe you could add a few zooas too, they are really easy to care for as well

I will go with the 12g then. It is only about $30 more than the 6g.
How much live rock should I get?
Do zoas need special lighting?

zoas should get at least 3wpg of 50/50 lighting, with standard daylights the only coral good really are mushrooms.

i personally would get 30lbs LR but 12lbs will work too

I know the eclipse systems work well for FW, but I have not seen too many people using them for salt.

Have you checked out some of the other tank options at this place:

There are a bunch of different nanos to choose from. I think the tanks with the rear filtration (or none at all, like the jalli tanks) are a little better suited for SW. Just my opinion.

the 11g in coach's link with 55w lighting looks good

I will go with that I guess.
but before I get anything online I want to make sure I can't ffind it at my lfs.

Would I be better off with a 10g glass aquarium?

coach's link with the 11g and 55w lighting is a good deal, if you cant get that one you can use a standard 10g. good thing about standard tanks is you can always upgrade

It sounds like whenever I ask anybody at a store about getting a marine tank they say it is harder than it seems, but anybody online seems to say that it is just a fun addicitive hobby, and easy if you have done FW.
Would florescent lighting support most corals?

Hmm...I don't think it's that easy. There are more details to pay attention to and very little room for mistakes. I'm not saying it cannot be done. But I feel that alot of research and studying needs to be done before starting one. Gotta understand what the marine enviroment is like and how it works.

its no different than FW, just requires more research.

for corals i would not use regular fluorescents, you should ideally have 10wpg and really the only lighting that can get you there is PC's, T-5's, HO, and MH
