I know it was brought up that the theif option should be removed(and was) so I thought I would suggest getting rid of the buy reputation points option. It is misleading to other members if a person has reputation points that they do not deserve..i think people should have to earn those. Members are supposed to build their reputation by giving good advice so that other less experienced members know who is reliable(not that someone w/ less rep points isnt necessarily reliable). So what are others thoughts?

I realize that this is an expensive feature but it has been purchased and is pointless IMO

It works, I tested it. It only gives you a VERY small amount of reputation, and you only have it for a month or so. I can't remember.

Plus, If someone really wants to spend 25,000 points on reputation that they won't get to keep/don't deserve, I say let them.

it does run out after a month, so really its a waste

Well if its that much of a waste of points, you'd have to be crazy to buy them only to lose it like a month later

wow...lol..i didn't even know that there was something like that. lol.

EDIT- IMO....i would just leave it...if someone wants to waste points on something that is going to last 1 month....go ahead and let them.

I think it should be removed.

Rep points are one of the things that makes this forum what it is. With the reputation points system we have a way to evaluate what other members of the forum think about a certain other member. Even if it's just looking at the green bar on the posts, it's a good measure.

Being able to buy reputation points, even if temporary, skews that whole system. Someone who posts a lot, but frequently gives bad advice, can buy himself a "good" reputation. Or a better reputation anyway.

I know the mods have been trying to encourage people to use the reputation system. I entirely encourage this, but only when deserved. It's one of the best ways to make sure that this forum stays as good as it is.

Honestly, the reputation system is a bit skewed in the first place. People give them rep points because they made a funny post, or they like that person, not for giving great advice.

I seriously doubt that feature will be removed. If someone saves 25,000 points just for the soul purpose of buying something like 5 reputation points, that will eventually dissapear, go ahead and let them.

Yeah I didnt realize that it was for only a few points and only for a month. I dont know anyone on here that would bother to save up 20000pts just to buy a couple rep points.

I disagree with most of you. I think this feature should be reinstated. Buying reputation points is the American Way and you too can play like a congressman.
