hey all i have a 127 litre Fluval aquaium with the assigned internal filter, i have had the tank set up for 3 days and washed all the gravel and decoration completly before putting them in the tank, the filter is completl blocked already with no food been put in the tank. I was wondering if anyone had the same trouble with these type of filters and what i should maybe do about it considering im trying to cycle the tank? is a canister the answer?

i just went to a fluval as well, i like it so far, does it have filter media in it? i can't see how it could clog so fast

Did you put any live plants in. Maybe leaves or other plant parts are in the filter?

Work with your fluval to find out what is wrong first before replacing it. I have a fluval 2 in my 20 gal long and have been pleased with it so far. Something else is going on other than cycling your tank that is clogging it up. What are you finding in the filter media?

the only media i have in it is the standard foam eliment, it's very frustratin, there is no plants in there either, just water there is nothing in there to clog it, maybe it's got a falty motor or something. can anyone reccomend a canister for this size tank, i'll see if i can get a refund on the internal. thanks in advance.
