How do I put plants in my new baby biorb aquarium?

First of all hello to every one using this forum.

I have just bought my first aquarium (a baby biorb) and have got it running - ready to start introducing my first couple of coldwater fish in a couple of days. I am completely new to all this and in addition bout 3 real plants for the aquarium.

What im not sure about is how to actually put them in the biorb - do i leave the plants in their little pots or am i supposed to take them out of them? When i experimented with this my plants kept floating around the tank!

Id really appreciate any advice as ive not the foggiest what im doing here!
