My two bumblebee gobies are definitely my favorite fish in the tank. They are adorable, have lots of personality, play with each other - sometimes even hang out together - and mostly fight for king of the best position in the tank. In the world of guppies, danios and other small minnows, these guys are far from homogenous hyperactivity.
The problem with them is that they refuse to eat anything but live food and all of us know how much of a PITA that is. These guys won't even eat frozen baby shrimp (I can understand that they weren't satisfied with freeze dried.) Worms and brine shrimp only last a few days and that means a weekly trip to the pet store. Even my Otos seem to find some green thing to eat and, at the very worst, you can put in a squash or cucumber into the tank for 24 hours and they'll be happy for the week.
In the LFS they said that they only fed the flake food and I'm wondering whether I've just spoiled these guys so they wait for the shrimp. Have any of you been successful in obedience training these guys so they finally take flake food? I've heard that if they really get hungry enough they'll go for the flake. Well... I'm wondering about holding off on it and just going flake and dried foods rest of the week...
