Koi Project dilemia....

Okay, now that school started again i have a senior project to do based on the paper i wrote last year. I wrote the paper on 3 methods of breeding Koi...(natural, artifical, and fixed water quality). Now for the project i need to recreate the all three types of breeding in 3 different aquarium tanks.

1. How big should the tank size be for two adult Koi?

2. I need to sex the fish

3. i must note the color of the offspring if it would work...

4. Make a poster about the project

I'm asking you guys for advice about the tank size and volume so i can have the fish be comfortable enough to breed and not die from stress. I know Koi are tough fish but this is a very big project....

Any advice given would be great

UPDATE:

i have 4 females and 2 males they are all sexually mature...

I also have tons of fry that are 6 months old....if i can wait (i think i can too) i will check the sex of the fry and use/add them with the others...that way they will not be as big as the older koi...

what ya think?

How big are your adult koi?

the biggest one is about a foot big and she was a female...the others 6-8 inches big

but that is just an estimate since the fish are very delicate we couldn't measure them completely but the fish already have grandchildren
