Here you go Hobbsy - Duckweed (http://www.mobot.org/jwcross/duckweed/duckweed.htm).
First time I've ever heard Duckweed referred to as 'charming'.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy........I forgot to add the picture!

Sorry

Should I just toss it? It sounds more like a nuisance plant to me.

I have NO idea. Kinda looks like that but I'm just not sure. Don't even know if it's a floater but seems like it would have to be. No runners connect to one another.....all little separate thingies.

How large are the leaves, Hobbsy? Looks a bit like small Amazon Frogbit. Its not an Azolla. If the leaves were fuzzy I'd call it Salvina. The leaf shape looks the same.

Red Root Floaters, looks just like the ones I have.:hmm3grin2orange:

I was wondering about that one. It looks more like what I have than any of the others. Frogbit looked a bit like it but not quite. The roots are a brownish red so I'll go with that.

Says it likes bright light but guess it will have to live with what I have.

Thanks everyone for helping me out here.

It will be so close to the light I think it will do fine. They will take awhile to acclimate, doesn't seem to like being shipped. I have them and some water lettuce in a 10g under 32w and they are doing fine. The lettuce is a pond plant said to need very high light.
I just got some new plants today too:hmm3grin2orange:

What ever it is Lady,

If you don't want it, can I have it? I need to find a nice floater for my tank.

Amazon frogbit, great floating plant if the tank is uncovered and has good lighting over top.
