Hi all, just found this site yesterday after cravin' some knowledge bout my new hobby. I'm sure I'll go through many of same problems most newcomers go through setting up my tank. But Im sure with all the knowledgeable people on this site all my question will be answered easily through experience and intelligence. Thanks. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g117/janetbabes/DSC01452.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g117/janetbabes/DSC01454.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g117/janetbabes/DSC01453.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g117/janetbabes/DSC01452.jpg

Im not sure on the tank size. My buddy gave it to me and said its called a 32 gl octagon. Im almost positive i only put approx 5 five gallon containers of water in it when i filled it. And yeah that shark has grown considerably in a month. He's a little more agressive than id like. He keeps biting the rear fins of my silver dollars when its feeding time but then again those two silver dollars dont want to share much either.

Hello and welcome to the A.C!!! Nice tank you got there. I'm sure you'll be able to get all the answers you want here. Please feel free to post any questions you have. Might I suggest in another thread though as not everyone will read this section. Good luck! Cheers!

Edit - Oh, as for the measurements for your tank, try using the calculator in the panel on the left.

Welcome to AC. Your gravel and decor take up volume of the tank, therefore you don't need the full amount of water that the tank is made for. I'm pretty sure there is prolly a way to find out the actual gallons that it holds.

Yeah, but it wouldn't take up 27 gallons lol If you click on the "Calculators" link in the Menu, there is a thingamajigger in there where you just type in the dimensions of your tank and it'll figure out the volume. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a hex tank. What are the dimensions?

EDIT: Whoops! Looks like KcEE already told ya about it lol

Ask, and ye shall receive, and thus be set free. Fourteen to sixteen inches. And its a schooling fish, so you'll need at least six or eight or more of them.

Welcome to AC, ceksenior!
