My Pleco

Here is a short video of my Gold Nugget Pleco. The oportunity to capture this elusive creature on video is a rather rare one. I had to croutch below the level of the tank and hold the camera up at tank level to capture this. I hope you enjoy.

It looks like a BN because its related to them, but they don't have whiskers. Gold Nuggets are Baryancistrus species. There are three species of gold nuggets; L18, L81 and L177. L18 is the largest at 14 inches. L81 and L177 the smallest at about 8 inches. Easy way to tell is the latter two have larger spots. The big one has lots of little spots.

Thanks alot Dave. I remember looking all over the internet when I got it to figure out what it was. I first thought it was a Gold Nugget when I saw the light colored edges on its fins. Now I know it is. And thanks to all for the comments.

Nice Pleco. A small one though. I like when it moves around on the wood. It's cute.
