i have this aweful brown algae possibly mould in my 55lt?

it is on the botton of the tank and along the sides, i am a bit confused on what it is and whether it is hazzardest to my angels,

the funny thing is that the angels are still spawning in the tank with it
so i think that it is not to bad, but the fry dont survive in there

i would really like to know if anyone knows what it is and what i could do about it, keeping in mind i cant move these angels and that they right now have eggs in there

please help

Does the tank get direct sunlight?

not really
though it is right next to my 3ft community tank they sit next to each other

could this be causing it

Those are diatoms (algae in a shell), and harmless, if unsightly. They usually show up in newer tanks, as silicates and nutrients are all over the place, but they can show up at certain times of year when more silicates are present at the time of a nutrient surge. They'll go away over time when things stabilize, just wipe the glass.

If your 3ft community tank is right next to it and does not have a algae prob, I would rule out position.

I would carefully clean as much as possible with an algae magnet, and get a couple of bristlenoses to clean up the rest.

i do use the magnet to clean it
but my angels spawn once a week at the moment, wont the bristle nose eat the eggs?

is there another way to get rid of it without compromising the eggs

Thats ok, Better to be safe than sorry. The only other thing to do is to clean it once or twice daily, and to also clean the alge magnet and dont leave it in the tank as it will mean that the alge will just build up from the magnet and reinfect the tank.

Try turning your aquarium lights on for a lesser period of time, also is the food sitting on the bottom? Stir your rocks up once a week in stead of feeding them new food, so they can eat what is settling on the bottom!

I was having the same problem and after doing the mentioned above the brown algae stopped showing up!

Is the tank newer? Brown Algae developes on newly established tanks. I have some on my 38g which was set up roughly a month ago.
