I went to the pet shop today and they had a plant (Fern) there and the guy said it was called Bomba, but I have looked on the net and cant find anything on it at all. It is a Dark Green Fern like plant that resembles Air Furn that you hang in the Bathroom ect and it lives on the moisture in the air. But Bomba is the same but its an aquarium plant for freshwater.

Never heard of it and can't find it online. Are you sure you spelled it correctly? Forget latin names. I have no idea what people are talking about giving latin names. LOL

Is it Cabomba?

I'm guessing Cabomba, I've been fighting with this plant for a month. I get people that tell me it requires a lot of light (the majority) and some which have kept it with 1w/g.

I always loved the plastic version, so I got it cheap and thought I'd give it a whirl. Since I have low light right now it doesn't want to quickly root, but there are some roots growing from higher up on the stem.

I used to have a spreadsheet for easy plants somewhere on here, but maybe a moderator deleted it. You can google it and get plenty of photos.

Nope not Cabomba, it grows on anything and covers it. Grows in low light and is more like a Moss. It looks good but just cant find anything on it??

Looks sort of like Java Moss but finer.

Yeh well thats as close to it as I can get, except its finer and dosnt have the small tiny leaves on the stringy bits. Put apart from that its identical. I will buy some and take a pic of it, I asked them for Java Moss but they said they didnt have any but that they had Bomba or what ever it is.

Hav you tried www.plantgeek.net?
Thankyou for everything:19:
yep tryied their and no luck, But I went to the petshop and got some He still stated it was Bomba Moss.

So I thought I would visit a few other shops as well and see what they thought, and to my supprize it is Java Moss but not standard Java Moss, its a strain of it but much finer so must be new or somthing. we had a look at it under the microscope and it is definetly a form of Java Moss. Just dont know what the proper name for it is as yet but thats life eh. As long as it dose the same job that I want it to do, wich is to cover the teracotter pots I have for my BristleNose cats, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who has put in so much effort to help me with this matter, Much appretiated. Thankyou to you all.thumbs2:

It's probably java grown under low light, it tends to be thin, stringy., under high light it thickens and spreads looking similar to limbs of a Spruce tree
