Hi guys,

I found this in the library, breeding betta's

Maroxy. This prevents infection to her from any torn fins, and is needed in the breeding tank to keep fungus from developing in the eggs.

Could you explain me what Maroxy is exactly, whats your experience with Maroxy and do you guys maybe have a picture of it?

Thx in advanced!

It should be MarOxy (I’ve changed it in the article).

Maroxy is one of many treatments used too prevent fungal growth and fungal infections in water. Since fish with damaged fins etc more easily is susceptible to fungal infections it may wise to prevent fungal infections to keep the fish in better condition.

MArOxy also prevents that the eggs get infected by fungi and thereby may improve the results of breeding.

MarOxy also has antibacterial effects and limits the risk for other infections.

I have however newer used MArOxy so I can’t tell you whether it’s any good.

Does this answer your question?

I don't use maroxy and never have. In fact if the only problem is torn fins, all that is needed is frequent large water changes. If you want to add something melafix is about all I would suggest. And don't forget the water changes :D
