I am going to redecorate my tank, and there will be a little over 4wpg, so a LOT of light. I made a plan on word. There is a blank spot, but that is for is the wood is bigger, or a grow-out spot for the plants around it. How do you like it? this is the key:
1-driftwood
2- water sprite
3- Ludwiga Peruensis
4-java moss
5- giant hygrophila
6- water wisteria
7-moneywort
8- hairgrass
9-Glossostigma (for a carpet)
10- green cabomba

I don't think it will show up as a Word file...

...can you upload the picture to Photobucket or another picture site?

It works here..

What size is the tank? I thought you were going for an amano style tank.... this is more a full planted tank.

I am really bad with non latin names with plants.. will look them all up LOL

I am not familliar with latin names! I either know the common name and never know the latin, or know the latin (and what it looks like) and go, "oh, I never knew those were the same thing!" Its a 30 gallon. I want it as heavily as can be. i want it something like this, you know, like the experts! I am REALLY trying. Do you have any tips?

I like it... I think though that no. 6 Water Wisteria is going to grow too high for the mid section in front of the wood...

Oh, then maybe switch it with the moneywort? I just saw it in a pic in the mid section and it looked nice. Here it is. This is the one I am modeling the most:

Yeah I did look at the plan... if you do one in paint on the comp you can save it as a image... if you can't get round to it I can do one for you tomorrow (while you guys in the US are all sleeping) and post it here...

My tips:
When planting plants beside each other this close make sure each plant has a different form of leaf/shape to define it more.

Chose plants that don't have the exact same coloring to go beside each other.

If you make a 'street' out of a plant group - same plant small at the front and planting it larger to the back it can give amazing depth to a tank.

Have just one big focal point in the aquarium

Don't plant the plants within each group too closely to allow light to the lower leaves or they will thin out and die - it may look strange at the start the little gaps between the stems but they will fill out as they grow...

Emmm that is all I can think about at the moment LOL

I like the plants you have chosen .. thumbs2:

I meant for rue to look at the plan, but whatever. I purposely put big/small leaves like you said already. The closest coloring is hairgrass and the carpeting plant, but anyone will see the difference in size so no one will care/ see the color similarity. Thanks for the help!

No, you don't have to be sorry! I just meant when I said "did you look at the plan" I was talking to rue! If I sounded rude, I am VERY sorry!

shockshockshad

The brown is driftwood. I think it will be malaysian driftwood. There will be some larger stones in there too.
