Does anyone know about the black ghost knife fish my wife wants one but I think it will not mix with the other fish

i have a few small tetras (neons black tetras), 5 red eyes, some red fin tetras, a clown loach, and several types of gorami

They get i think 3 feet long. So unless you have a very large tank, I doubt it..

That knifefish isn't fish predatory by nature, but they get large enough to eat little tetras like your neons, which they do at night. Your red-eyes and Goramys should be ok.
The knifefish will need a tube to call its home. A PVC pipe large enough for it would work, and there are acrylic 'houses' for Black and Brown Ghosts.

I have one. We got one of those clear knife fish tubes, but it never used it. Another good idea instead of the solid pvc pipe (where you'll never see him) is to lean a flat rock against the glass of your tank. He'll be hidden from the other fish, but in plain site where you can see him! Our's hangs out under the rock all the time so we can just watch him. As far as I understand, lost alot of other fish, he'll eat anything that will fit into his mouth. (At least half-way, anyway, as far as ours is concerned. Everything I've read say they are very noctournal, and only eat and come out at night. Ours comes out and takes laps with full lights on, and will come out and catch feeder fish or gobble up pellets with the rest of the fish also! They do get large, so be careful. Ours have grown a good 3" in as many months.

actually, ours is probably a brown ghost. He's brown in color with black spots. I'm not sure if much changes though between them, other than color.

I have a 75g but with that size I think it would need 150

a 150 would work, but even that may be alittle small for him if he actually does reach 3'. My 150 is 6ft long, so if they are all about that length, figure he's already half the lenght of the tank. I've been working on an 8' 265gal, so it should be ready in the next few weeks.

Althought, with a 75g tank im sure you and your wife will be able to find fish that you like even more than the ghost that can go with your current fish. A 75 ia s pretty big size, you have loads of possibilities.

You just buy a really little one and eventually she'll want bigger fish that WILL mix with it
