Here's a good one. I just got a new tank and a cannister filter (Fluval) and put in a bunch of Biomax and used the other stuff for the bacteria to grow on. I've added bits of ammonia too. But what you need to know is that instead of using carbon, I put Chemi-Pure in the bottom as a suggestion from someone who runs tanks.
That said, I'm wondering if the Chemi-Pure is removing the ammonia because I highly doubt that I have a cycled tank after 2 days where ammonia seems to be disappearing and my nitrites are at zero.
That said... do I need to start the cycle again and remove the Chemi-Pure? If this is such a great item, then it would seem that you don't even have to do too much cycling if this agent will keep your water relatively stable until everything works its way out on its own. Obviously, there is a piece here that I'd like to put together from experienced people.
