I have just recently started a 29 gallon gourami tank and was looking for some good plants that I can float at the surface. My LFS does not have water sprite, so I am looking for something other than that. Any suggestions would be great??

Gourami's love Limnobium laevigatum as the roots grow lovely and long and float in the tank... they love hiding under these

What are the light requirements of those, Fish?

Seeing they float right close to the light it does not matter too much what strength it is... the roots are really something else on these and can grow to 30cm down into the tank (don't worry about chopping if they get too long)... gives a really tranquil look... even if you buy 3 or 4 you will have loads within a few months and they also help keep the nitrates down as they thrive on it.

I wish I could but I'm in Europe and don't know any of the US stores... I hope someone else knows a good place

Seems it is named Amazon Frogbit over in the US ...

Amazon frogbit shouldn't be hard to find., I have frogbit, water lettuce, and red root floater, just got them so I don't have any to spare at the moment.
