Not sure how he is going to do in your 90. You've got an awful lot of fish in there, and a lot of them are fairly aggressive.

I had 2 of these in my 150gal. They were each about 4-5" long, and very quick. I thought they would be ok with the Oscar, as they were together all the time and he never gave them a 2nd look. Turns out I was wrong when I found one's head on the rocks... So I moved the remaining one to my 20gal feeder tank hoping he bulks up. When I move my piranha to the 75 gal, I'm going to put him in their old 40gal

they get 6", eat feeders and crickets, and stay at the top of the tank

Ah crap, that's as big as they get? I was under the impression that they got quite a bit larger. Guess he'll never graduate to my 265!

I'm not sure how reputable this Drs Foster and Smith are, but according to this site, they get to just over a foot...

This one from Elmers says up to a foot... It's really hard to know who to trust

LOL very true. So if we go by the simple rule that the fish will grow anywhere from 6" to 6', we should be fine! :19:

Petsmart employees are idiots. I've done alot of research and I'm thinking of getting one or two they get 10-14 inches long, grow very slow, they are not in the gar family and they're related to the silver needlefish (not sure on the name) which are saltwater and get quite big.

Well, I guess we'll be the authority on it. We'll just keep each other updated with the progress I suppose! I know mine for one grows very slowly. He's even been housed in the feeder tank with his choice of what/when to eat! He'll be moved to a 40gal tank when we get the larger piranha tank up and running
