Hi I am looking for an easily grown and propagated type plant for my gourami tank. I have read that watersprite is good to use, but my LFS does not have it. What other plant will grow on top of the water freely and requires very little maintenance?

You might want to post this in the plant section, you'll probably get more responses.
I dont know much about plants, sorry I can't help you.

I'm not sure about other types of plants, but my lfs had some watersprite. We threw a handful in, and within a month or so half the tank was covered! Maybe look into ordering it from somewhere?

I know I have read somewhere that amazon frogbit is a good floating plant to use with Gouramis. Check out the plants section. From what I can tell, stay away from duckweed as it will take over the tank. Riccia is supposed to be a good floater as well.
